Win free books!

In celebration of HIspanic Heritage Month Dia de los Muertos, I'm hosting a book giveaway contest.

Look at these sexy titles:

Zumba by Beto Perez , Maggie Greenwood-Robinson
Evenings at the Argentine Club by Julia Amante
Damas, Dramas, and Ana Ruiz by Belinda Acosta
Tell Me Something True by Leila Cobo
Amigoland by Oscar Casares

I haven't read any of them yet, but I've heard good things about all of them, and they share my publisher, who hires good editors, and I'm doing a reading with Oscar Casares in May, so I'd love to send them to y'all and hear what you think.

Here are the contest rules:

1. You must have a non-P.O.-box mailing address in the US or Canada that you're willing to send me if/when you win.

2. You must post, in the comments on this post, the name of your favorite Latino author.

You must post your email address as well so I have some way of getting your address from you. If you don't want to comment, you can also email me your response at gwendolyn.zepeda@gmail.com.

3. If you have a preference as to which of the books listed you'd like to win, go ahead and type that, too.

4. I will put y'all's names in a Franco Sarto shoe box and have my cats draw the winners. Then I will give your addresses to Hachette (my publisher) and they will send y'all the books.

Deadline for entry is October 31.

Ready?

Go!

Just posting to say how much I enjoyed meeting you at the Texas Book Festival and to thank you for signing "Growing Up With Tamales" for my sister at the reading on Sunday. (We were the ones who were at the knitting demo.)

I have to say, I was very impressed with the kids who introduced you. Did they get school credit for that? They did such a good job, especially the boy, recognizing the themes of your work. I definitely could not define "themes of an author's work" when I was in 6th? grade, much less tell you what any of them were for a particular author.

Hi, Anna. I enjoyed meeting you both and my mind is indelibly impressed with your snowcone-tinted smiles. :)

Rest of y'all: I shook the box and drew your names and I'll be emailing you for your addresses momentarily...
