(This will only make sense to people who listen to Houston FM radio.)Oh, my gosh. I can't believe 104 fired Atom and Maria and is replacing them with Roula and Ryan. Jeez.
On the one hand, it doesn't bother me too much because I won't miss Atom at all. I won't miss him screaming into his microphone, and I won't miss his constant cycle of "say I'm not gay, joke that maybe I am gay, force Johnny Bravo to dress like a woman for my pleasure, apologize to my wife."
On the other hand, I didn't miss Roula. I didn't miss her complete ignorance of news and pop culture, I didn't miss her blind loyalty to President Bush, and I don't miss her whiny voice.
But I will miss Maria Todd a lot. She's been my favorite radio DJ in Houston for a long, long time.
They should have combined Maria with Ryan. And then told Ryan not to discuss homosexuality. (What is with Houston's male DJs that they're constantly discussing their own sexuality and their suspicions of other men's?)
I hope Maria gets a better job soon. Does anyone even listen to Sam Malone on 96.5? Only straight-up brown shirts and people who really care about how often he eats chicken parmesan with his wife, right?

Thank you...Sam Malone makes my ears bleed.And then there's Roula...she's the kind of DJ that forces you to buy an IPOD/MP3 player to have something to listen to in the car as you haull ass in the HOV.
God..I'm old enough to still miss Lee Jolly and Chuck Schramek..sniff. No one plays " Whooly Bully " for me any more.

i feel the same way as you - don't like atom, love maria, like ryan ok, but REALLY don't like roula.
guess i'll be pulling out my cd's for morning listening now.

Personally, I won't miss any of them.
If I want talk radio, I listen to AM. If I want commericals, I listen to FM in the afternoons. If I want music, I listen to my iPod. The only thing FM in the mornings seems to be good for is innane blabber. Sigh.

What the heck??? Maria was the best thing going for morning radio. Roula and Ryan back??? They are why I never listened to 96.5! I was so glad to be rid of Sam Malone and thought that morning radio would improve without him. Instead, it looks like all his actions did was get the best morning DJ fired! The rest of the bozos just got shuffled around.

Curvature: Aw. Well, better that you were warned by me than unpleasantly surprised by Roula's voice. I wonder if they're bringing Producer Eric with them. I heard 104 got rid of Josh Reno, too, so it seems like they would.
RT: I know what you mean. But, for some reason, I prefer to hear a little blather in the morning. Don't know why.
I like The Mexicanz on 101.1 okay, but I don't like the reggaeton music and offensive lyrics ("I'm in love with a stripper," anyone?) so it's hard to keep it on that station.
Yvonne: I know. Sam owes Maria a big apology. I hate him more than ever now.
Do y'all remember the time Maria accidentally said fuck on air? That was awesome.

I really could careless about any DJs that are fired or hired...But I could not believe that Maria Todd was FIRED!!! I used to listen to her a LOT as a teenager back in the day! Wow, it just keeps going whack here in Htown! I don't even want to bring up hurricanes...
