I don't care what anybody says...

Superman Returns was not good. Aside from Superman being smoking hot (although not as hot as Clark Kent, somehow), nothing in that movie was worth it.

I was especially disappointed by the lameness of Lois Lane.

That's all I'm going to say. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

(Did you say that I already did? Sorry!)

Actually, I saw it and a friend of mine told me to see it on IMAX cause it's in 3-D. He said even if you didn't like the movie that much, it was well worth it to see the 3-D version cause it was so exciting -- everything was floating around you and it felt like you were in the movie.

I've also heard that the IMAX is better. But Kate Bosworth is all head, and I didn't buy her as having any chemistry with Superman or her boyfriend.

I soooooo agree about Lois Lane, lame choice of actress for this part and no chemistry with anyone, not even her supposed kid.
I went to see it with son of course but was shocked at the disappointment I felt and to be honest kinda got bored in the middle. ansy, not really bored but it was so... hmmmmm what is the word..... cant think of it.
My son liked it but then again he's 13 and sat with a group of friends mostly girls to watch so Heh I doubt he cared what was playing.
speaking of which. Can I ask you a question Gwen? I value your opinion on this since you are a cool mom but have good values. I still think 13 is too young to get "dropped off" at mall or movies, but other kids get dropped off. The kids dont seem to mind me being around (after all I'm smokin hot and I'm fun and cool) but my son says its time but my Hubby and I say its NOT. 13 is too vulnerable to silly suggestions and girls are much too crafty at coming up with sneaky bad things to do.
I know this since I was one see?
Not to hijack the thread but it really is on my mind this movie/summer season.

P.S. I'm so joking about the smokin hot and cool part, mostly I'm just fun to be around and dont mind wasting the gas to cart kids around in my big truck. LOL but imagining I'm smokin hot like you is fun...................

Datty: Well, I'm not going to see it again, 3D or not. I think I only have time for Devil Wears Prada this weekend. Plus Pirates of Caribbean, of course. We may have to make it a double feature.
(Is there anyone left here who doesn't realize that datty is my boyfriend? if so, please disregard this parenthetical aside.)

Pinky: I know, right?? Plus, what's up with James Marsden always getting jilted, anyway? Also, in the '80s one, Lois was actually a decent human being with Clark Kent. Not Kate Bosworth's Lois, though. It made me lose respect for Superman to see him loving such a jerk. And I don't blame Kate Bosworth for that - I blame Brian Singer. For that, and for making her a poor mother.

Pixie: I'm not actually hot, because I'm fat. You know how that goes. No one looks at fat chicks, even if they're very hot inside. But thanks for your confidence in me.

My son is 13-about-to-be-14, and I have yet to drop him off anywhere. However, I think this school year (freshman high school) might change that, seeing as how we'll be in a safer neighborhood. Oh, and also, all this past year, I let him go to the coffee shop after school alone.

I think it all depends on the safety of the place and the trustworthiness of your kids' friends. Also, I think it's okay to stay with the kids in public. I can totally see myself being that mom, as well. I think the kids secretly like having a grown-up stick around with them, as long as you aren't all up in their business. (They like knowing someone cares.) If I did drop my kid off at the mall, it would be with a set pick-up time, and he would have to have his cell on the whole time, and I would call to check up on him once every two hours.

I agree with you - it's often not your kid that you need to worry about, but the combined peer pressure of a group of kids. They do like to do naughty things when they're all together, don't they?

Gwen is hot, so if anyone is still reading this you can read the above as ironic deprication humor, in case her sarcasm didn't come through.

Rose is one of two people in the world who think I'm hot.

There's Rose, who is very young and impressionable, so that me whispering "Gwen is hot" in her ear at night actually makes her believe it.

Then, there is an older man at my work who sort of looks like Phil Donahue. He is tragically in love with me. The only reason I allow this is because he never, ever, ever tells me that I'm hot or I look nice or I have a pretty dress on or any of that. He just asks me how my weekend was and silently pines when I ignore him. I can respect that. I wish all the dirty Mexican and Puerto Rican men in our building would take note. However, ersatz Phil Donahue will never know of my appreciation for his love. He will never know me at all.

Except that Gwen is actually hot. Tad knows it, I know it, creepy older men know it, that girl who really wants to make out with you knows it, and Mike knows it. In a different way. Still. I'm done with comments - stop the voodoo.

OMG Gwen, You are too so hot! You ARE HOTT!! Whether its sarcasm or not, you so had better know that you ARE so Hot.
Hottness is not in poundage, its in the attitude and ACCESSORIES!!!
I so appreciate the words on 13/14 year old boys and drop offs. yeah, I gotta realize this is a different more mature age. I go but sit in a different section at the movie or I go to the mall or arcade and wait at a designated place. Right now its at this age all about the arcade and Hot Topic, nothing drastic but my 13 yr olds last gf (*gasp*) was 'emo' and I didnt trust her an inch. So I trailed behind EVERYWHERE. This group he's with is ok.
*sigh* I just want my 10 yr old back, that was the funnest age.
