Sneak preview of upcoming novel.

I don't have time to say much, but

I do have time to ask y'all for a favor. Would you please send good vibes to me today? (Or pray, or do a nice Wiccan spell, or whatever you prefer and have time to do.) Here are the general areas in which I need help:

1. Pray that my house bid gets accepted.

2. Wish for my house financing to go well.

3. Hope for my children to be happy in their new schools.

4. Petition the universe to smile on our moving out of Urbania and far, far into the suburbs - beautiful suburbs with an artificial lake and ducks. And plentiful good schools for smart little boys who don't deserve to languish on long waiting lists for the only good schools in Urbania.

5. Finally: vaguely dwell, if you have time, on the thought that maybe the long commute won't bankrupt me, because maybe my car will sprout wings. Or gas prices will fall. Or we will all convert to corn fuel. Or something...

 I wont tell you not to worry, cuz thats what good folks do. they worry. But I WILL tell you this much:

even if some things dont work out the way you expected, it was probably for some awsome reason.

I want a house, but it is outside the realm of human possibility, so I'll just direct all my house hopes in your direction.

You don't literally mean ebay, do you? Because I looked, and apparently you can buy a house on ebay. Which... I can't even fathom.

Kate: No, not literally. I just meant that I'm trying to have an auction mood about it, and not freak out and take it personally if I don't "win" a house.

I should find out within a few hours if I won the second one. Man, I hope I win.

In other, apropos-of-nothing news: I just heard I'm being taken out for lunch for Secretaries' Day. I'm not an admin assis, and I don't want to be thought of as one by these people... But, screw it. Free lunch. I'm there.
